This fabric, silky and finely
woven, takes the classic Vichy
check, a staple of French Country
style, to a new level. Brindilles
is the French word for twigs and
scattered over this cloth is a
pattern of embroidered twigs woven
into some of the checks. These
details add a pleasing texture and
visually soften the formality of
the pattern. Checks such as these
are favorites because they
coordinate well with solid colors
as well as with prints, which they
counterbalance by their geometric
design. Brindilles would thus
coordinate well with our toiles,
florals and pictorials.
Brindilles is well suited for
draperies (or drapery lining when
the lining is to show!) but it is
also sturdy enough for
upholstery. Woven in 100% cotton
